John Sharkey
BIOGRAPHY:
The proud son of Irish immigrants, John believes that immigration is a cornerstone of America’s strength, enriching our nation with diverse perspectives, cultures, and endless possibilities.
After working as a corporate tax lawyer for over thirty years, John moved to Utah in 2019 and began volunteering as an immigration attorney in Salt Lake City. In 2023, he had the privilege of joining forces with Karin, Laura, and Maggie to co-found Wasatch Immigration Project.
John represents clients before USCIS, Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals, primarily on affirmative and defensive asylum claims.
In his free time, John enjoys mountain biking, skiing, and home brewed beer.
